What breed is this beautiful rooster?

Coyote, your Kenny and my BJ look very similar. BJ is as sweet and gentle as they come. To ladies, but also was very bonded with a roo friend when they both first showed up out of nowhere some 9 years ago. I just popped in here for a sec as I'm at work so I don't have pics here but if I find this thread later (as jjthink) I'll try to add pics.

The reason he was given up is that he is NOT a pure bred red jungle fowl (game bird) He does not have the green legs and his tail is not totally green/black it has white in it. Someone did a favor to these guys and you are the lucky one to own him.

He is a GORGEOUS roo. I raise these guys and they are a very hard and difficult breed to get pure and raised to adults.

Here is a pic of my roo. i call him ROO.

He is a vibrant and correct green legged jungle fowl.

Junglefowl aren't gamebirds anyway. They are Jungle fowl. I've never heard of them being hunted, and they've never been fought either so they're not gamefowl. He is a American Game like I mentioned, they can have pea, straight (single) combs, white, blue, black, green, slate, yellow, mixture etc legs.. tall, short, etc.. Color on them varies too since they were bred for the pit, and a lot are not exactly bred to be uniform in color though a lot are pretty uniform and tend to be the most beautiful birds around.

Daniel I sent you a PM but not sure if I did it correctly. Anyway to anyone who knows..... should I be worried about this bird attacking anyone? Since they are bred for fighting are they more aggressive than other roosters? Our bird (so far) is pretty mello. He stays away from us and is very sweet to all the other birds. My 2 girls (4 & 6) spend a lot of time with the chickens and I don't want them being attacked. I was just wondering if this breed is more prone to show aggression?
Oh and we tell our girls to stay away from him.

If he's anything like my BJ, you won't find a sweeter, more gentle roo.

AGREE LOL Jungle fowl are not game birds. most game fowl org. come from old english game fowl and american game

He will not be agressive just because he is in the gamefowl faimly. it just like a pit it the way you raise them. dont put him with other rooster though.

Nah he should be fine.

If he appears to try to be aggressive, do like my husband did with our last rooster (Red Sexlink roo) Chase after him like a crazy person everytime you go outside. Wave your arms around, yelling at the top of you lungs. Fudge never tried anything with any of us after that, lol
