What breed is this black and white chicken?

It looks like a cuckoo Maran to me. My Maran has the same leg color. The only reason I "know" mine is a Maran is due to her dark brown eggs.

Your Marans might have dark legs but it will not have yellow skin with a dark wash over it like this Barred Rock pullet. If it does, we would love to see a photo of it and the eggs she lays?

This is the chicken and her eggs are below. Now that I look at the eggs she might be a barred rock

Where did you get her? The eggs are quite dark for a barred rock but there definitely appears to be yellow skin on those legs. It could be a hatchery quality cuckoo marans with the wrong skin colour.
In the USA a lot of your Marans are the French type with feathered shanks and clean legged ones are less common, from what I have read.

I can’t tell the big difference between cuckoo and barred, either. But, I’ve never had a cuckoo patterned bird. Same as how I had trouble telling cockerels from pullets until I actually had a cockerel. Learning curve is huge with chickens, I’ve come to find out. Ha!
