what breed is this black duckling

Hmmm... Looks like you have one Mallard or Rouen in there (the second from top) and possibly a Sweedish (top). The other 2 (bottom 2 in pic) I would still guess chocolate runners. They are all adorable, and I am sure you will have fun no matter what breeds they are! Keep us updated as they grow up!

Definitely looks like a Rouen or Mallard (second from top in the bathtub pic.) and possibly a Sweedish (top in bathtub pic.). The other 2 just not sure. One definitely looks bigger then the other. Keep us updated as they grow up! They are cute whatever breed they are, and I am sure will be beautiful!

I know my pics are bad but went online to cackle hatchery and my 3 dark colored ducklings look like black cayuga ducklings the hatchery shows or black runners and the 4th looks like Rouen

I don't think it is even a poor production runner. I have had Show Quality black runners and 3 other colors of Sq, and they have longer necks even if poor quality. I might guess Black Swedish as a possibility , TS gets from hatcheries , sometimes some rarer ones that are leftover.... the black legs are a bit of a giveaway...I have Hookbills too and they are pretty dark, but have eyestripes and some yellow.... Cayuga's are pretty rare too...

When I looked at hatchery pics the Campbell ducklings are like a milk chocolate color these minus the flash are dark chocolate color I'm cool with either Swedish or cayugas and I purposely picked out the blackiest ducklings they had I already have white ducks my Muscovys and have the mallard look with my welsh Harlequins so I wanted black :) and was a lil surprised when my black duckling took a bath and came out looking like a Rouen duckling tsc had just put them out so I had my pick straight out of box so I blaim the dirty duckling on the hatchery shame on them but no matter what the ducks turn out to be I'll be happy just love ducks even if its a runner it will grow on me as I watch them grow plus my family says I'm messing the ducks up already cause they will think they are chickens since they are being raised with chicks haha thanks for everyone's in put and in 28 days I'll get to see what khaki Campbell ducklings look like in person since I bought 29 hatching eggs today from a local breeder
