What breed is this chick??

Last Friday I had two chicks hatch, the white one came out of a light Sussex egg, nut I'm not sure what the black one is, it came out of a very, very dark egg. This is them:

Can anyone identify the black and can anyone also identify the gender of both chciks?

Does that little black guy have feathered legs? That would bear out the Marans idea.

The black one has tiny feathers going down to his foot (when I mean tiny, I mean tiny!)

Looks like a marans. They lay dark colored eggs. The french marans have the feathered legs. I hatched a few french black/ blue copper marans recently and they look just like your little black chick. It's too soon to tell the gender though.
