Bruno may have tried to steal the hens, but he failed. The girls have 2 Langshan roosters guarding them, and even at just 18 weeks, tha larger of the two tops Bruno in both height and weight. Plus Bruno is very busy with his three hens and 11 offspring of various ages. Here's a pic with Bruno and his 14 week old son, obviously, carbon copy of the dear old dad. Lol.
Bruno just lost most of his tail feathers last week. I'm assuming it's a molt, but I'm not sure. It's weird he kept the longest two, and lost the rest, but they seem to be coming back, so I guess he's okay, just a little underdressed. Haha
I named the young cockerel Buggsy, and it seems to fit him. In the background you can see two young pullets from another of Bruno's hens. They are about 3 weeks younger. And just Satirday, 2 hens appeared with new babies, 7 in all.
