I would say either a Barnyard mix, or Black Sexlink, which is still a cross breed.

I just asked my friend who I got the hen from, he says he bought her at Tractor Supply. I thought they only sell solid breeds? Not half breeds or mixed birds

Black sex link or some other hatchery hybrid. TSC sells anything the hatcheries offer, and that is often hybrids like these with name brands.

They sell production Hybrids as well, such as Black Sexlinks(Black Stars), Midnight Majesty Marans(Black Sexlink), Rhode Island Blues(Production Blue), AmberLinks, Golden Comets(Red Sexlink), Cinnamon Queens(Red Sexlink), Blue Plymouth Rock(Blue Sexlink), Sapphire Gems(Blue Sexlink).
All of these are mixed breeds made for production.

I see, so what do you think this exact bird is? A Black Sexlink? What does that mean. I'm assuming a cross breed chicken? If so, of which breeds?

As other have previously posted, hatcheries are not going to divulge the exact make up of their branded breeds.
I recently read that cornish X's carry a dwarf gene, is that true?
