What breed is this hen?

I don't think you need to. With the pic above she is undoubtedly an Amber Sex Link. And I have learned something new for today because this is the very first I've heard of this breed.

No...I don't think it is. Her neck/head isn't that long, and her legs are bright yellow. Those chickens have more of a pale yellowish/whitish leg color. And her plumage is more yellowish.

And look at their heads...they don't look much alike. ??? I just don't see it.

I got her at TSC(Tractor Supply Co),during their "Chick Days" event towards Easter. So she must be a purebred. There was tons of other chicks of her breed too. They were just called Assorted Pullets? No specific breed.

Not every chick from TSC is a purebred. They sell red sex-links too which is also another hybrid. Not every sex-link bird is going to look exactly a like either.

Thank you. She is my favorite hen,and shes soo friendly. And she absolutely loves my miniature horse. I really love her! She was one of our first chicks we got! She almost dies a few months ago though,we had to go buy this $40 antibiotic for our chickens. It was horrible. Im glad to see that she has recovered though.

I just do not see her as one though. And if those chickens are more of a rare bird,I don't see TSC selling bunches of them.

And anyways,Omelet has a completely different face, legs, and is more stockier, and a different color....

They aren't really a "rare" bird, just one that hasn't been in production a long time. They used to be very popular. Mt. Healthy hatchery sells them which is a major supplier to feed stores in the spring to sell chicks. They supply all of the feed stores in my area so it wouldn't be unusual if they added those to a mix of pullets.

I have one that looks identical to yours that I got at TSC chick days last Spring. Yours, like mine, is definitely an Amberlink (or Amber Sex Link as other said). Mine also lays a brown egg.

There was no sign on the bin they were in, so I asked what they were. The person went in the back and got the shipping label from the box they came in. They were listed as Amberlinks.

I guess the hatchery that TSC bought from is trying to re-establish this Sex Link back in the chickenworld. Last year might have been the first year they started bringing them out to the public. My guess is they will be back at TSC again this year. I would also imagine, they are for sale from whatever hatchery TSC buys from...not sure though. I am pretty sure that TSC only got 1 shipment of them...think there were 200 in the bin.
