Trying to figure out if this is a rhode island red bantam or blue bearded d'anver bantam. I had the egg marked as a d'anver but from what I can find outthey are a different color but I thought rhode islands had red on them.

Not a Rhode Island Red, as they should have a single comb (from the photo, it looks like it has a flat rose comb). It must be a D'Anvers.

Rhode island red can be rose combed too. I have one myself.
D'Anvers can come in different varieties/colors if thats what you mean. Or do you mean the color of the egg?

though thats not a RIR

Its comb its not as pronounced as my others. I have full standard rhode islands, barred rock, and sex link chicks and all their combs are a bit raised up and single. The chick in photo is fairly flat and not rigid.

All my rhode island bantams are single comb. I was talking about how yellow he is because all the d'anver chicks I see online are a sort of blue.

Okay... gonna try to explain.

When two blue birds are bred together, chicks will be as follows
1 black, 2 blue, 1 splash.

I think you have a splash D'Anver.

Let me find a better way to explain this...
