He's a nice looking young hatchery type RIRed roo. I have one he's a dandy. I've got big plans for him this comming hatching season, and I'll bet he won't mind it a bit either.
To me a production Red and what everybody calls a hatchery RIR are the same.
Heritage RIRs are the foundation based real old fashioned RIRed stock that all these (industrial type laying reds) the hatcheries sell are derived from.
His leg color is what the OP posted earlier is what they were referring to as light. It looks light in the pics. but that could also be from the flash also.
And don't apoligize for the ignorance, thats what were all doing here is learning and sharing.
