this is Becky. (I know) he's a four year old rooster. anybody know what he is?

i drew over the spots on his chest. they didn't show up in the picture


also for no reason, just wanted to share his son.

Shouldn't a red sexlink male be white with red shoulders?

His color *does* look like a female red sexlink though.

I was thinking he just had a lot more red than usual in the shoulders, and it was spread over a lot more of his body. But you might be right :confused:

Of course, barnyard mix is always a possibility.
 
i don't know. i'll ask her where she got him sometime soon, likely tomorrow. here's more pictures. he's a sweet boy. he lets you pet him.

Based on those photos, probably a barnyard mix.
He does have a lot more red than I originally realized.

With the new photos, I agree with you. Not a Red Sexlink male.

But if someone crossed a Red sexlink back to a Rhode Island Red, they could get some males that look like this. (Of course various other crosses could also produce this result.)

Maybe a Red Sexlink.

The females are pretty common, but sometimes the males show up in stores or in orders from hatcheries, and they often grow up to look about like that.
