What breed is this roo?

I just recently hatched 3 eggs (2 hens one roo) and I got a silkie and an Easter egger, but I’m not sure about the roo. We thought he might be a silkie, but he doesn’t have many feathers on the top of his head or an extra toe. He’s about 8 weeks old, if that helps. Thanks! (He’s in the middle of the picture)

That is a silkie, the black one is not, probably a silkie mix cause it has normal feathers. How do you already know it’s a cockerel?

Where did you get the eggs from. I see 2 rhat look like silkies/silkie mixes and one that looks like a mixed breed

The black one is probably a satin silkie if not a cross. Sometimes, hatchery-quality silkies don't have the big top hat head or five toes. I'd say the two on the left are pet quality/hatchery quality silkies, but not sure of the one on the right.

That's called satin and there are satin silkies, but not saying it's not a mix though, just FYI.

I thought satins had to be mixed with a certain breed my bad.

They did generations before have to be bred with a cochin. Now some folks raise satin silkies. I only have one, a naked neck paint, and only keep her because she's my only adult paint.

I guess her "official" title would be a satin showgirl silkie. I don't raise those, just hanging on to her for now.

We aren’t 100% sure, but compared to the others it has a very large/bright red comb and thicker legs. He also tends to stand straighter up and makes different sounds from the others. Thanks for your response by the way!
