Silver hen, not white. You do NOT want to use any birds that carry white in breeding sex-links or you can mess of the unique female vs male appearance.

i know most hatcheries use white leghorns and/or white rocks covered by RIR rooster. you don't want a dominant white bird though but you want one carrying the silver factor. thats about as much as i really know on how to make sex links
