He's nice most of the time. He is fine with me but when my wife goes to the coop he sometimes goes after her

That needs to be nipped in the bud quickly or it will only get worse. Especially if you have children.

Unfortunately, the only way I've found to nip this is to make them dinner. I've had roosters take a chunk out of me before and chase one of my kids all over the pasture. They were not bred and volunteered for freezer camp. Most roos are nice, but occasionally you do get one that is overly aggressive and should not be tolerated. Thats probably not what you wanted to hear though, to stay on topic he's a very pretty guy and looks like a mixed roo.
