I think part of the problem is that with hatchery grade White Leghorns you get all sorts of variations from the SOP. Hatcheries breed them strictly for high egg production and as a result don't worry about meeting any consistent standards.

came from Murray McMurray hatchery and is solid white with yellow legs and is almost 4 months old. I am thinking a white rock, but they have several different white breeds.

Spalding, I have the exact question. I have 4 that McMurray hatchery sent me and they are the sweetish hens. Very gentle and silky to the touch. I pick them up just to feel their lovely feathers. P. Fort

I have a chicken just like this I'm wondering what kind it is as well. I got it from a friend as a pullet. She said it was a white and she got it from tractor supply. My chicken looks exactly like this and when I did the Google lens it said it was a DeKalb Amberlink. She just started laying eggs and they're tiny and very light brown and not showing as what the amberlinks egg should be. Please let me know if you know what kind of chi
cken this is.

Recent poster hasn't posted a pic that I see but if their chicken is laying a brown egg it's not a Leghorn.
