Old thread because it showed it orignially showed as posted 7/23/11. It was changed to reflect the correct date. Yesterday I thought it was an old thread too that had been dropped.
This roo has the same coloring as some of my dark Norwegian Jaerhon roos, but they have a large single comb and he has a beautiful rose comb.
Do you know if he is bantam or standard? Aproximately how much does he weigh? Known age?

He is gorgeous! But definitely a mixed breed.

Sometimes I think the mixed breeds are the prettiest!

Interesting, I got him with 5 other chicks. They were supposed to be girls and came from a hatchery; ended up with 2 Brown Leghorns, a Brown Leghorn roo (he is gorgeous) a Minorca and an Easter Egger and this guy. I looked everywhere to figure out what he was, the rose comb is unique, but couldn't find a breed to match. Thanks everyone, and thanks for getting my photo up on the page!

I was thinking EE as well. I had one that looked just like him. Red Sex Link mom, EE dad - came out with yellow legs and that sort of colouring.

Discoveregg, he is 7 months, and about 4.5 to 5 pounds. He is gentle and easy to handle. I looked at all the breeds I could find that had the rose comb, but as I said, couldn't find anything that matched.

The average dark Norwegian Jaerhon roo is 4.4 pounds at maturity. They have a single comb and more barred tail feathers. VERY gentle and freindly. Mine fly up on my lap or shoulder on a regular basis when I am relaxing on the back porch. But I agree with the others...he's a very handsome mutt!
