What breed of rooster is this?

I would say it is a cross with an Australorp for sure. It almost looks shorter in stature than most, perhaps a cochin is the other half of the cross. However it could be a distinct breed as there are hundreds of backyard breeds that all claim to have a unique breed but as far as I'm concerned, I would say it and Australorp cross.

Cuckoo Marans or Barred Plymouth Rock mix.

First one a blue Australorp, the second a barred Plymouth rock.

Are the two birds related? If so, I'm leaning toward Marans, or Marans mixes. A splash Marans rooster over a black hen could have produced the first bird, and the same male over a cuckoo hen would have made the blue barred second bird. To me the second bird looks more cuckoo than barred, is why I'm thinking Marans.
