This is Vader. She's not much larger than our silkies, only about 5lbs at 8months old. We think she's a she because she's laying, but theres a lot of other conflicting things about her.
Any ideas on breed?

If she's laying she is definitely a she. :)

What colour eggs does she lay?

She looks to me like an Australorp or a Black Sex Link.

ETA : You're right, probably not an Australorp. Depending on the egg colour I'd guess a Black Sex Link or an Andalusian. :)

It looks to me she's got white ears. Guessing she lays white eggs. With the Mediterranean body type there's a good chance it's a black colored Andalusian.

Where did she come from, a hatchery or a breeder? What color eggs does she lay?

I agree not Australorp. I'm leaning toward mixed breed, myself, but knowing where she came from will help.

X2 on donrae's post.

What color eggs does she lay? I'm thinking a Mediterranean breed like Andalusian, Minorca, or Leghorn (do they come in black?).

Yes, you can get leghorns that are black but they are rarer :) I don't think this one is though because Leghorns have white earlobes.

If it's white eggs I say Andelusian. I have two blue and one splash Andelusians and she looks very similar. When did her comb and wattle start to grow? My girls are 3 months old and still don't have comb development.
