I had gotten these two hens from a good friend about a year ago and have been trying to identify the breed. They are the cutest tiniest little girls. Very friendly and very broody. They are black with a green sheen, black skin, tiny black comb, backwards crest of feathers on the top of their heads, little poofy beards/cheeks and no feathers on the legs/feet. I’m thinking maybe a type of Belgian bantam???? The pictures aren’t great but they are as we lovingly call them, the tiny black things lol. In the first photo she is blurry and in the second one is sitting right under the wood perch. As you can see they are even smaller than my silkies. Any thoughts would be great!

She might be a bantam Americana. Can you take a picture of her specifically?

That is a black amaracana, they lay blueish green eggs. I own a splash amaracana, so if you need information on the breed I can help.

I’ll get better pics this morning. They are definitely not Americana. I have those too love their egg color! These girls lay tiny cream/almost apricot colored eggs

Definitely not a silky, they lack of protein in their feathers which causes them to be fluffy. Sebrights are always laced. I own three of them I have one silver and two golden laced. I have breeed my silver laced to a golden list and they always come out with no beards or muffs. I would check my bantam breed standers book but it is at school. Could be a Easter Egger, they can lay any colored eggs and be any color.

Here are some better pics. My 10 year old daughter is holding one so you can see just how tiny they are!
