He kind of looks like a R.I.R ( Rhode Island Red ) But I'm not sure and I'm only saying that because of the coloring and that's it...
I know that he's not just saying he looked *similar* to one's coloring and nothing elseRhode Island Reds are supposed to be a dark, even red all over. They have a bit of black in the tail and in the flight feathers of the wings. They do not have any white.
That rooster is not colored like a Rhode Island Red. He has too many shades of red, he has way too much black (breast, wings, upper legs), and he has white barring all over him.
He also has the wrong body shape, and the comb & wattles are wrong. A Rhode Island Red rooster should have a nice, upright single comb, and dangly red wattles under the chin. The rooster in the photo either has genes for a very different kind of comb and wattles, or his comb and wattles have been dubbed (cut off). Dubbing is common for gamefowl roosters, but not for Rhode Island Reds.
He is a nice looking rooster, but he is absolutely not a Rhode Island Red in color or in other details.
You and I must have different ideas of what "similar" is when it comes to chicken coloring, because to me he does not look similar to a Rhode Island Red.I know that he's not just saying he looked *similar* to one's coloring and nothing else

Many breeds of chickens, including gamefowl, come in crele (coloration of a bielefelder).Looks like a game bird. Has the coloring of a Bielefelder so may be a mix.
