What breed is this??

Looks like a Black Australorp, however I suppose it could also be a Jersey Giant as the two breeds (when originating from a hatchery) are often confused. Black Australorps have white foot pads, Jersey Giants have yellow.

Wyandottes have rosecombs, your bird has a single comb. Langshans have feathered shanks and should have longer legs. Also, Marans tend to come only in Cuckroo when from a hatchery.

I think she is a Black Australorp. She looks just like mine, except her beak is a little darker. Is her eye pure black? That is a good indication of a pure Aussie, if it is brown and black then she might be a crossbred Australorp (commercial black type). My Aussies also have the lovely beetle green sheen to their feathers like yours.

OK. So it looks like she is a Jersey Giant!

The bottoms of her feet are definitely yellow. Wasn't figuring on a Jersey just yet, but she's a keeper! She just talks non stop! Love her!
