I got this with my top hat chickens and it was "rare breed" but not sure what exactly. At first we thought it was a Silkie because it's feathers were so different and at 2 weeks had feathers down its legs. Now I'm not sure. It's

Its a little early to tell at this point since most baby chickens look alike as chicks. Not a silkie. I'm thinking its a Cochin at this point. Keep us updated with pics as it grows for a better breed estimate. Welcome to BYC!

Well you won't believe what this turned out to
Look like! I believe it's an Americana -it's the one back against the wall. And, it's a rooster.

Wow! looks nothing like before! how did you find out it was a rooster? did it start crowing? lol seems like my luck is every time i get excited about a new chicken it grows up and is a boy

!!! lol
They are all pretty though!

Yes, I was hoping it was a hen since they supposedly lay blue or green eggs. Then when I was feeding one day it looked at me and crowed. Talk about a little disappointment! But I love him anyway!!

It's not an Ameraucana or Easter egger, he's a hatchery quality Salmon Faverolles rooster. See the white skin and five toes, straight comb? Those are all Faverolles traits. They're supposed to be a very docile breed, so if you have to get an Oops roosters, he's not a bad choice.

I ran outside to see what was going on thinking it was my neighbors roo and there wasnt any loose chickens an d then I heard it coming from the tractor.. one of my "hens" found his little crow :( I wasnt disappointed too much tho now I just wonder what happens if they have babies what would they look like and what color the babies will lay
