What breed is this?

Just got this bird today. I'm not sure if it's male or female. Also I don't know what kind of bird it is. I was told it's a black Orpington rooster. I'm not so sure if it's a rooster.

The picture is very dark, but it looks like a rooster and it appears to have some brown (or possibly dark red) saddle feathers. If so, it is definitely not a Black Orpington. Can you post a profile pic with better lighting?

From the photo, I would guess that it is a mixed breed.

I'm also thinking mixed breed rooster. The rooster part is for sure, the mixed breed part....we need a profile pic of the bird standing naturally in good light.

She looks like a Golden Laced Polish mixed breed.

What color are the bottoms of his feet? He looks like he could be a pure Black Australorp or Black Orpington (white bottoms). If he has yellow bottoms to the feet, he could be a Jersey Giant.
