Production rhode island red. Isabrown would have white in the tail in place of the black. If the eggs are large and the legs are a pale yellow on the chicken she is over a year old

lol beautiful and a REALLY BIG BULLY!!!!!
this was my only hen for the 2 weeks ive owned her and since i introduced a new hen (i decided to give her company).
it really is picking on the new one... the new one is very scared of it.

my first guess was a Hyline or a Isa Brown... since ISA's are the most common here as commerical.

but i introduced a new hen which is 100% ISA brown but slightly younger.

this original hen in the picture im guessing is well over 1 year old.
the new one is aprox 6 months old, the comb isnt very prominent yet

HOWEVER, the younger isa brown seems to have Longer and larger feet than this one in the pic.
hmmm

Looks like two of mine, which I am told are New Hampshire Reds.

P.S. - What's the difference between a "Production rhode island red" and a regular RIR??

Production red.

Quote:
The difference is that a production red is a cross with a RIR to make them more efficient layers. Pure RIRs are not too often seen. They are a MUCH darker red, and look pretty much black until you get them in the sun. Here are a few pics of some true RIRs, compare them with the bird above...
