I've spent hours trying to Google and search for a matching picture I hope someone can tell me what this hen is?
Thank you

Definitely not a Marans. Most Marans have feathered legs, and all have straight combs.

I think the color pattern is called pencilled.

Where did you get her? Any chance of her being a crossbreed? (I'm thinking Pencilled Rock with something else, to give her that comb.)

Also, @JedJackson and @Gray Farms know their stuff when it comes to breeds.

Definitely a mix. The color pattern is indeed silver penciled. So maybe a cross between a heavy silver penciled breed like Wyandotte, Plymouth rock or dark Brahma crossed with a breed with pea combs like Easter egger or Ameraucana.

Another possibility is that it is a cross of a partridge breed. That color pattern has the same crescentic penciling, but with a gold/brown background instead of silver. If you crossed a silver pea combed breed like Easter egger or Ameraucana onto a partridge variety like partridge rock or partridge Wyandotte, you could easily get a bird that was similar in color and comb to the hen in the photo.

I do think one of the parents would have to be either silver penciled or partridge to get that pattern in the offspring.

Yeah there is a good chance of her being a cross breed. I got her from a chicken lady a few towns away from me. Thank you for your input!
