There are so many types of blue chicks now that I’m not sure what these are. They were marked Australorp but only one looks dark enough to be that and I’m pretty sure Hoover doesn’t sell the blue variety. I’ve raised Sapphire Gems for the last couple years and a few of them look like those but then a couple look different in the face so I’m not convinced. Could they be Sapphire Olive Eggers? Thanks for your input!

They're darker than my Sapphire Gems were when they were babies. The creamy stripey ones were a fluffy headed cream leg bar of some sort, the black ones were black copper marans.

The last two pictures above are of the one that could be black. One has a dark head and lighter body. One has a lot of yellow but I had one like that last year. Here are the ones from past years that I know were sapphire gems (except #3 is still in question). I know they can vary greatly.

Updating at 3 weeks. I think they may actually be blue Australorps because though they seemed to be feathering out like my sapphire gems, a few are slow feathering and I am pretty sure I have some boys. All of my sapphire gems feathered very quickly.
