Looks so much like my Cochin hen. She is 19 weeks and turned black. I had grey chick cochinn, turned just more blue-grey.
See pictures. And the red one, hm... I don't think it's silky... but hard to say, I think it'll be red anyway, just darker

I just checked and it looks like the lighter colored one has like two back toes is this like a mutation? Or like a birth defect?

that is a trait of silkies. most silkies have an extra toe, and feathers on their feet.

I have a black silkie hen that I JUST checked and she also has extra toes so yeah, I should have known. Sorry! I checked my silkie rooster and he doesn't have extra toes so he might not be a Silkie after all...

he could be a mix. or if he's true silkie, he could have had parents with recessive genes for a normal number of toes, and been the one in four chance that both the recessive genes were passed to his DNA.
