Last month I was given 4 ducklings for 5$ by an old lady who had a fairly extencive but mixed poultry population. one month later, this is what they look like so they are 6 weeks old in these pictures. We have two muscovies that are very placid and tame. These ones are different in that they drank and ate more individually than the scovies and you can not go near them with out them taking off-every night its a struggle to put them in their home. If you could please help identify what breed they are that would be excelent and I don't think you can tell the gender by looking at a photo can you?

I am going to say they are mixes of pekin and cayuga and maybe some khaki in them, by now you should be able to tell gender by thier quack males are soft and raspy, females are a loud quack quack, the males will also get a some curly feathers at the end of their tails. I don't know what to tell you about getting them, in at night mine all herd up real nice and go in, I used to take an umbrella behind them and open and close it to get them to move where I wanted and I give them some scratch grain when they go in. I don't need the umbrella anymore but still give them a small amount of grain.

lovley ducks

have to agree though... looks like angel wings on the last duck in pic1 (one on left looking at it on pic3)

Third photo from the top, the one on the left may have angel wing or just a loose feather for molting.

These look like mixes of Pekin, Cayuga, and Swedish to me.

I like their looks!

Peas are a nice bribe and can help them develop a more positive relationship with you. What is the feed you are using? Did they start out on chick starter (if you know)?

Searched it up then went outside, i think it was the wind because those feathers are tucked back in. if it was angel wing would she be able to tuck them back in? :L

Looked at the wrong duck- yes she does have angel wing :( ive never heard of it in my life before just about to go read the article. The first week they were on chick starter then i read some where that they grow to fast for their bones because of high protein? then i switched to top layer mash which is just crushed up chook seed.
