The ground being covered in snow already (it is too soon) with temperatures forecasted to be -17 degrees Celsius within the next week is mading me desire warm weather, hah. Normally we ease into winter, but instead it went from balmy to freeeeezing over the space of a day.
We had the reverse, freezing to boiling. Equally unpleasant if not more so, very hazardous for those with cardiovascular conditions (plenty of those in my family), so stressful in more ways than one. You can bundle up when you have summer-thinned blood and it's suddenly cold, but can't easily thin out winter-thickened blood in short order.
The first snowfall is usually nice, very pretty. But it was heavy wet stuff that is a pain to shovel and makes roads slicker than teflon!
lol yes, I'm sure snow would be lovely for about 24 hours before I got jack of it.
It seems like a lot of places globally are experiencing drought conditions, which is quite frightening. I hope you get enough rain to keep the bushfires at bay, that is not cool!
Thanks, we hope so too. The snowy area I'm thinking to move to (!) had massive wildfires in one week and heavy snow the next. Not safe anywhere, even when it's just been monsoonal you can still get a wildfire as soon as it dries out enough. Gumtrees and volatile-oil-bearing native plants... They go off like bombs.
Once summer here was dry as parchment, and everything seemed to be lighting on fire. No natural forest fires for a while means there is a lot of fallen trees, leaves, etc. that is great fuel, all it needs is a spark. Thankfully most of the properties were not inhabited at the time (deer hunting camps) but it took out a lot of forest land.
That sucks, always hate seeing established forest burn to nothing. Forest management is a hot topic here because of all the undergrowth.
Best wishes.
