I hear they're smaller like Pilgrims, but chill and are good at weeding.Actually I haven’t. I’ve heard of them, but not seen them on a lot of sites. What are they like?

Mine are talkers, they get crazy excited about treats and well most things, but their also very calm and friendly. My other geese are more aloof, so I welcome the change in personality.Yep, I think I read that on here. But for some reason they’re labeled “very calm”, so thought I ought to check.
Have you looked at Oregon Mini Geese?Neat, smaller is better! I’ll look around online for price near me, thanks for the recommendation!
Although the talkativeness is a con, unfortunately. But they are beautiful.
Thank you for the suggestion! The only place I could find where they were readily available was Holderread's, but they are only shipping adult stock as of 2021, I think.Have you looked at Oregon Mini Geese?
I have used Metzer in the past and have always had a really good experience with them. If you are getting geese, it’s always a good idea to get at least a trio, geese love other geese and if something happens to one you still have two. As for quieter breeds, my Toulouse geese are very quiet, but my Sebastopols are pretty loud. Guess for the most part it depends on the actual personalities of each goose. I hope you find the geese that are right for you!I am planning on getting a goose this year, if all goes well. There are no affordable breeders near me so I'm thinking I will buy from Metzer's, which I have never used before but seems good quality. I cannot have the noisiest ones where I live, so I am thinking a Buff would be best. But on metzer's website they label pilgrim geese as very calm, and they are smaller so that could be better. I am going to keep them with my ducks, and I have already had two drakes so as long as the noise level isn't regularly louder than that... but I have never had geese so what do you all advise? Just would like something quieter and not likely to be homicidal.
Yeah, last time I looked there was an $18 small order charge, that charge is diminished if you buy more than 5 goslings. I guess you could also even get ducklings to fill out an order and avoid the small shipment fee.Thank you! I am reconsidering Metzer’s now, as I went to checkout to check the process and final pricing, and found an extra 35 dollar shipping fee for a minimal order. I’ve never ordered so few before so I was not aware of it, but even if I were to order 3 geese, I’d rather not pay for a whole extra goose! I considered Toulouse geese but they are large. I’d heard that geese could bond with ducks too, but it makes sense that they’d prefer other geese!
Yes, they can bond to ducks and be very good guardians, but they will always be happier with at least another of their own kind. Plus, you can incubate their eggs with a gander a goose… Which is awesome, as long as you like the idea of more birds.I’d heard that geese could bond with ducks too, but it makes sense that they’d prefer other geese!
