Looks like a white Homer (AKA Homing pigeons) but I'm no expert on breeds. And the tail looks kinda fanned, like on some Highfliers...and other breeds, maybe it was just fanning it out right then, I'm not sure, it could be crossed, too. Some guys on here might have a better guess.
Anyhow,
Im new to pigeons as i had kept them when i was very you g and only knew them by the characteristics when flying e.g a roller could easily be identified when flying and a tipler is the high fliers and so forth but i have never come across this which is supposed to be a racer .. Btw what is meant by band? This was a male its young (squeaker)
And thanks 'fowlsessed' iv been looking for that thread as iv got a few game birds myself :-D and i like looking at what others have
The "seamless band" is a little ring that is placed over the birds feet and onto it's leg, when it is still in the nest. There are different ones, but those are the main ones and the ones required if you are showing or racing. They have the year the bird was bred, an ID # and you can personalize them with contact info, loft name etc.
