what breed of turkey is mine- bronze or BBB?

I've never posted on this site so I don’t know how to post my photo of my turkey. I was given a 4 yr old tom by someone. He weighs 31 lbs and looks like a bronze. Would a BBB live this long? Would a standard bronze weigh this much? He can't fly and roosts by laying down. They never fed him and he just free ranged. I feed him squash, tomatoes (he loves them), crickets, worms, and sunflower seeds. If someone tells me how to post pic I will. Thanks.

I don't believe a BBB is designed to live that long, but they very well might. Although I understand the fully mature weight of a BBB tom would be somewhere in the 40 lbs range where a fully mature SB tom would be in the 30's.

Most of my standard bronze Toms are 30-35 lbs. My BBB have been 45+ pounds. I have had some lucky ones them live 6 years. The bigger ones do not live. Many hatcherys are selling smaller BBB. It is hard to tell the difference since the BBB of the 30's is what we now call a standard bronze.

Here's a picture of the turkey that was given to me. Thanks for all of the responses. It's good to know he's probably a standard bronze. How long will they live usually? If I wanted a turkey breed that could fly up to roost and were friendly, which is best? We
like this turkey so much that I think I want a few more.

I have found the bronzes and narragansetts to be the most friendly. Bourbon reds next, and royal palms last. I had a midget white once that was actually more skittish than the palms. Others will certainly rank them differently. They will all fly to roosts that are as high as you make them.
