I am a proud new chicken owner. My husband brought home six little chicks about two months ago. I have never had chickens, and have taken up to them quite nicely. It is killing me to wait for them to make noises to see what gender they are going to be. Also, they were just noted as being mixed pullets, so I have no idea what kind of chickens they are. I do have one favorite in particular: Peek-a-boo. I have read many forums on here, and noticed people are sometimes very good at figuring out what sex and breed chickens are even when they are small chicks. So, I thought I would post my Peek-a-boo, and let you guys give it a shot. I wasn't planning on keeping a roo, but if that is what Peek-a-boo is then it will have a loving home!!! On the first pic Peek-a-boo is the one standing on the top. She was in the shade, so the pic is kind of dark. Most of my chickens are white, but Peek-a-boo has a few golden feathers coming out.

I agree. Looks like a pullet to me!

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure because she has always seemed to be very calm, but yesterday I caught her doing a little chest bumping dance. We do have one chicken that will run up at you when you turn your back, and my husband thinks that maybe a roo. He said they will come at you when your back is turned. That is the chicken she was chest bumping with. Also, she is the only one that is getting golden feathers. I did read a thread on here that it maybe caused by too much corn in the feed, but she is a mixed breed and that may contribute to the color.

I would love to have an americauna! (hope i spelled that correctly) I think having green, blue, or pink eggs would be awesome! They are really cute too, with their feathered feet and all. My husband was looking at some malay (i think thats what they were called) chickens the other day on craigs list. They are like two and half feet tall!!! I couldn't believe there was a chicken that big!

umm....Ameraucanas dont have feathered feet. And they only lay blue eggs. If you get a chicken that lays a green, pink an d so on but resembles an ameraucana it is an Easter Egger or EE for short. And not positive but I am pretty sure it is malayasian(probably didnt spell that right) that are the smallest breed of chicken. We might be thinking of two different breeds though.
