How can u tell if ur chicks is a male or female?

I still have a hard time so I'll tell you the easiest way, and this was told to me by an experienced chicken farmer, "When they crow you'll know."

Of course this doesn't help when they're still little and you want to seperate them before they become a problem. I've noticed the Roos tend to get their combs and waddles a little earlier, and at least in my experience tend to feather out quicker and with more feathers then the girls. They also tend to take on a protective role of the flock, and the others will follow their "orders."

Sorry I can't be more specific, this is how I do it with my own flock, and I'd say I've got about a 70% batting ave.
