Dutch
bantam ... yours is a gold partridge

OEGBs have black or yellow legs, depending on color variety, red earlobes, a more upright stance, and less defined combs because the males are dubbed (hence breeders emphasize comb shape less than Dutch breeders do). In the U.S., a lot of Dutch have OEGB outcrossing because import limitations have limited the color genetics, but the blue legs and white earlobes are Dutch traits

American game have Red ear lobes.

Chris

You are correct but with any mixed breed anything is possible. After giving it some thought, she could be mixed with Dutch Bantam. I have a pic I found on google of a similar hen.

However, I do maintain that she is an American Game Bantam mix. In my opinion, at least one parent was full blooded American Game Bantam. The blue legs, single comb and lean muscular body style confirm it for me. I could be wrong but I am only trying to help imrove awareness for the Amerucan Gamfowl breed. There is very little information online about them (both standard and bantam) feathersite provides the most information about both varities and it is not much.So when I saw this hen I had to give my opinion. I orginally considered Leghorn as well but, if we knew how much she weighed we could determine better. Dutch Bantams are the smallest breed of bantam recginizedby the APA, weighing only 21 oz (rooster) or 19 oz (hen). The American Game Bantam weighs in at Rooster-30 oz, Hen-27 oz.If this particular hen weighs more than 30 oz (1.875 lbs) I would stick with my original postand simply say it is a gene defect.....Thank you for correcting me though.

Same pic I posted but I still see some game there! She looks to big to be pure Dutch Bantam. I have two Dutch Bantam mixs that are not as big as she appears. Maybe some better pictures with an object (like a soda can) to judge her size will solve this debate......

She's a green legged hatch American Game....standard size.

I have one just like her at home - they are slow to mature and ours just reached her full size this spring at nearly a year old. They are very sweet, but smart as a devil. Ours weighted only about 3 pounds until this spring when she suddenly shot up to 5 pounds.

Here is my Penfold - not the best photos sorry!
