Sapphire Gems are blue sex links. The males have barring, the females don't.

ok then it's seeming that both i'm being told are sapphire gems. does it matter if 1 has feathers on top his head behind his comb and the other doesn't?

Sapphire Gem shouldn't have a crest. I remember your other one. Can you get better pics of his crest?

it was hard to get 1 cause he kept moving. i took pics of both of them so you can see the difference in the heads. if you still need a better picture of the 1 with the feathers on top his head, let me know and i'll try again.
