What Breed(s) Do You Really Want But Can Find In Your Area?

EE's or anything at all that lays coloured eggs.

Jersey Giants
Marans
Buff Orpingtons are really hard, I drove nearly 3 hours to get my only pullet.

There are many more, but those are the ones that come to mind right away.

Oh and laced wyandottes are hard to come by in LF.

Silkies are so common.

Can't find in my area?

Any breed not offered by a hatchery/feedstore, really, can't be found in my area unless we're counting my yard.

But, I'd like some Shamo hens.

Lost my one a little while ago, and, well, I know it's gonna be a long wait, probably summer, before I get a new pullet or two.

v.cyr :

chanteclers, buckeyes, true ameraucanas, orpingtons other than buff, sussex(any color) and crevecours... funny thing is, most breeds I have started wanting over the winters the last few years(aussies, jersey giants, brahmas, and LF cochins) have started turning up at the place we buy our chicks the next spring, so I will have to see if any of these turn up this year...

Well good garden o' peas. How far are you from the 81 corridor? I offered to pick up orps for folks free of charge from Hinkjc farms in PA last summer. You just needed to pay her and meet me. I brought back Lavs, whts, blks, and buffs chicks. Only one other person took me up on it.

Her lavs were $20 ea but her others were only $5. Sorry I missed you. Gotta watch this year I may make another trip.

I have problems finding anything around here lol well in the county I'm in most people have mutts or have no clue what they actually have lol I went to a lady's house to get some OEGB , american game hens and some dominiques she had barred rocks and RIR and some serama's which of course I had to have lol I'm still trying to figure out how you confuse RIR with game hens lol but there's not really anyone around here breeding anything other than silkies I have american game , OEGB , Serama , cuckoo Marans and a lonely Dominique I would love to find her a man and some hen friends but again no one around here has any !
