Just picked up this little chick at a local farm. The gentleman I purchased it from has probably 100’s of chickens, quail, geese and various other animals. He could not tell me the breed. He just called it a “Layer breed”.
Of the grown chickens I saw at his place, he had red sex links and leghorns though looks like he kept them separate.
He also had other chickens on his property that I did not see, his property was huge.
Picked it up to keep my lone newly hatched paint silkie chick company.
I know it’s likely some kind of barnyard mix and possibly a mix of the two mentioned but I found this coloring on the wings interesting. It has a single comb and reddish down. Any ideas?
