I bought these two goslings this summer from a feed store in Texas. They were one of those "mystery" groupings. I think they are White Chinese geese.

I believe they came from Ideal Poultry which only lists Brown African and Brown and White Chinese geese.

How do you sex geese? I hope I have at least one female but think I have a pair.

Thanks.

The only for sure way is this method

But yours are looking a bit too old and squirmy to be sexed safely if you’re not used to it. You won’t be able to qtqell by looks for many more months unfortunatly.

Unless they have the hump on their head its not Chinese, at least that's my understanding. They look like Embden geese to me.

They don't get their knob until they are a few months old.
The males get theirs sooner than females.

These babies will be 8 weeks old in a few days. Pictures taken today.

@Jory, does this look like they are growing "knobs?" The baby in the front is the one I think is a female.

I see Chinese 8 weeks is the hardest time to judge sex. even with vent sexing If you really want to know at this age you can do feather test with IQbird testing. .
