What breed/sex is this?

Hi. I’m new to chickens. We purchased 2 RIR pullets and 2 Australorp pullets from TSC. They gave us 2 unknowns that had been pecked at. They’re all healed now and are beautiful. We are trying to figure out what they are. They have thick legs and are bigger than my RIR’s but appear to be about the same age based on feathering. They’re super social. We really hope they aren’t roo’s as we live in the city and can’t have them.

My first thought was WOW those are thick legs.

looks like it could be new hampshire reds, and they look like pullets. i know TSC carries that breed.

I know. We said the same thing. Not sure how old. We’ve had them 15 days. I’ll try to find find pics of them when younger.

‍ Not sure. I know their chicks come from Hoover’s hatchery. They had Isa’s, RIR, Buffs and some others I’m certain they aren’t.

either new hampshire red or golden buff would be my guess. but thinking the first, because of the larger legs.

Pullets or Roo? Or too soon to tell. They have huge legs and are a lot bigger than the RIR and Australorps.

isa brown didnt even come to mind. thats a possibility, but still
