What Breed Should I Get?

Pics
Ours is the central post office for the part of the county on this side of the foothills. I suppose they might call me from Sacramento, which is a little over an hour away.

When I talked to the post master, she said they usually come in on the first truck around 7 am. I sure hope they do. That won't happen, though, because that would be the best case scenario! Haha! I could pick them up, get them hone and situated, and be done before I have to teach 1st period!
That would definitely be nice if you get them around 7am. Granted, I wouldn't be able to teach if I had a bunch of new ducklings!

I would be shocked if you had to go to sacramento. We picked them up in the city because they didn't have time to ship them to our local post office before closing. So they wanted us to get the animals ASAP. I will have to wait and see what happens with my new order.

When are you supposed to get it now?And I can't find that message, but what breed did they have a less-than-stellar hatch for?

And I teach high school. I have seniors first thing in the morning. Those kids could practically teach themselves. All they have tomorrow is independent work, anyway. If I ended class early to go the post office, they'd be fine. And after that, I have juniors - also very capable solo. It's Wednesday that would be difficult because I have freshmen - haha!

That was the cayuga and I think it was the welsh too. Mine are scheduled for Feb 22. So I don't know if mine is going to be delayed yet. Hopefully they won't.
I hope not. That's only 2 weeks away! So exciting! The wait seems to drag on, though, doesn't it? Aaaaarrrrrggghhhhh!!!!

I didn't order Cayuga, but I did order a Welsh. I think Cayuga are gorgeous. My next order will include Cayuga, for sure. And a White Layer. And hopefully a Muscovy. And maybe an Appleyard.... Gotta pace myself.
😂

If you teach biology, they can be a subject. Look at cute ducklings. Actually, I think you can work them into any class. Math, teach them duck and chicken math! English, write about my ducklings.

Yeah we started with a few thinking only so many... Now we have 15, soon to be 21. And somehow thoughts of more down the line 😂. But right now, that will almost max my coop out. Getting the ducklings hasn't quiet hit me yet, but I am sure it will when we get the shipping notification. Time seems to fly by and I am shocked that it is only 2 weeks away.

If you get muscovy, I would really suggest getting more than one. They are a very different duck than the mallard breeds. They have a total different language. They get along and hang out together sometimes, but I have two flocks.

Trying to relax! I'm keeping busy now, but once my hubby and my son go to bed, I won't be able to stop thinking about it. I have a lot of work to do for tomorrow, though. Hopefully that will keep me from checking my phone constantly.

The Metzer website says that if I'm in Northern California (which I am), they often arrive the next day. I'm hoping that's the case, but my luck isn't usually so good.

When my son was in 6th grade, he had a project where he had to create Egyptian gods/goddesses based on family members. I was the Goddess of Misfortune, and he drew a picture of me holding a broken mirror in one hand, a black cat in the other, and standing under a ladder! 🤣
:woot No erupting volcano in the background? You're in the beginners league without a spontaneously erupting volcano! 🤣

Let the kids watch you setting up the duckies. That will be a lesson they will remember when they have grandkids! 🙂

Physics: Describe the flight path of the scare poop when a duckling falls on its back… 😉
