What breed/strain of chickens do the ROSS 308 originate from?

Just a small matter of an army of high priced lawyers to enforce the contents of CONTRACTS .

I think Mr. Grassbaugh did accurately and politely answer the question with his first post by indicating that it is a very well kept trade secret. A following poster indicated that the information was not proprietary and a simple matter to reproduce. I think Mr. Grassbaugh threw the BS flag and I will add that my bets are with Mr. Grassbaugh given his deep experience in the broiler business.

um.........ok..... i don't think anyone ever doubted mr. grassbaugh and his knowledge. pretty sure i said... if you HAVE all this knowledge why not SHARE it, rather than just "throwing the BS flag."

i thought this forum was for learning, that's why i joined... but maybe i had the wrong impression. it seems lately it is all about people taking sides and starting petty, juvenile side convos.

That was my point, the information was shared and accurately. It is a trade secret I beleive that.

If it were only that simple.

I would suggest that before any of the readers interested in this subject invest much time or money in a project using the information offered above that they research further.

thanks for the help....

instead of merely pointing out that this person may be wrongly informed why not offer some useful advice yourself? this site is for learning, so if you have any knowledge you see relevant, why not share?

ETA the day we stop learning is the day we die ~ so let's share our knowledge while we can!!

This forum is for learning. I about jumped ship myself in the first week when I was attacked by the drones. They often state something is impossible, and are the ones standing with their mouths hitting the floor when another does the impossible. Do not give up, and search for a few folks here that are just not saying 'can't be done' and ask them questions direct. I can give you a few of those folks if you PM, as I do not want anyone to challenge me about 'their' merit.

The most common thread is what happens if you cross a Cornish X with a Cornish X... and the same folks said 'can't be done' you will not get quality. There are a half-dozen folks that have done exactly this with great results. The conclusion is that it does not take laboratories and folks with PhDs to get favorable results (10-week or sooner broilers, 5lb harvest weights, and 2x feed conversions). HOWEVER, the forum postings ALL indicate that they spend great time in research and trial and error, and many that are well in the second or third year of the experiment to reach their initial goals.

Again, PM and I will point out those posts so you can truly learn from those who succeed and not be discourage by those who speculate.

I know this is an older thread but wanted to say Thank You for the info about the "Parent Birds" I have been trying to find out what birds I would need to hatch Cornish Rocks. Now I understand why it was so hard to find the answer.
