What breed to choose?

I'll add Chanteclers to the mix. We desperately need people to breed large fowl Buffs to aid in the process for recognition of the variety. The bantams got into the ABA, but the entry requirements for APA acceptance are much more stringent.

Pick a heritage breed. These birds need dedicated breeders to keep them from disappearing. Buckeyes, Iowa Blues, Nankins, Spanish, Orloff, Langshan, Sumatra. @Texas Kiki gave you a great link. Check it out

I'd have to agree with this. There are 10 listed, so there is bound to be one that strikes your fancy. I personally like the Java and there is a German one that would be my second choice.

I could never pick just one! I had a hard enough time downsizing to 4 breeding pens lol!

I'm trying with white Chanteclers, another breed that needs more assistance.
Look at the rare breed list, read about them, and pick one (or two?).
