What breed to x with to get a clean legged cochin?

Also to start off would i use male Orpingtons and female cochins or the other way around? i also don't know which color to start off with, any suggestions?

I don't know if it's been said yet, but you are going for standard sized birds right? What colors are you thinking about? Buffs, Barred and BBS would obviously be the eaisest as far as which color to start with.

Certainly don't want to discourage you from doing this cross , but to me a big SQ buff Orpington looks a lot like a barnyard quality buff Cochin but with clean legs . Might save time to breed buff orpingtons towards excess broodiness and rounder shape .
