Ok we are at a BIG loss here and at the risk of sounding completely stupid we cannot figure out if this is a chicken or not....It just dont look like a chick!!
It's head is really not THAT yellow but in trying to lighten the photo it gave the yellow..

it has almost a vulture looking head...what fuz it now has (lil over a week old) is shorter than any other chicks that we got at the same time as this one

We call it 'Swanny' cause it's like an ugly duckling...I'm hoping it will turn out beautiful ..

turken? a little too many feathers, but could be. where did you get it? what breed or breeds did it come with? was it a mystery chick, packing peanut? or was it supposed to be one of what you ordered?

It is not a Turken - Turkens look clearly like chickens (because they are. . .

) with naked necks, and a sort of patch of fuzz on their heads. This chick has a very body sort of complection on its head which stumps me as well. I know I have seen an identical looking chick somewhere, but cannot name it right now.

i think it does look like a chicken. i thought perhaps it could be a naked neck with a mutation or something, too many feathers, less nakedness. and yes i know the nakedness IS the mutation, but funny things can happen with genetics.
the pictures are slightly blurry, but , it looks like a chicken. its small like a chicken, and i dont think it looks like a guinea, but im going to go check that out now. looks to small for a peafowl, i think its some kind of chicken.

It almost looked like some of the peacock pictures I've seen but I'm still just lost...lol

Illia, it was sent with our assorted bantams from Ideal...not sure if it was a peanut, mistake or what...
It's got the fuzz on it's neck it's just the head that is odd, and it has a slight V rise toward the front of it's scull...just odd

What I meant by that is that it didn't look like a chicken, which turkens do. . . Although since it was indeed sent by a hatchery as an extra, it probably is, and probably just has some odd deformity? Because that skull makes it look A) born an hour or less ago or B) like it has some sort of deficieny, or maybe it is just a really poor quality. . some sort of breed I'm not familiar with.

lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who is lost on this lil' one.
It's eating and doing everything normal just the head thing has me totally thrown...
