What breed would you order?

SO not blaming you there. I don't have kids, and even I get exhausted chasing Wobbles down when it's time for a change, LOL! So you got pekins, then? Can we see some pics?

My personal opinion is most ducks lay eggs, some do not go broody like the khaki cambell. Others like the Swedish ducks do, without having different types of ducks you wont know personality and what they are like. I find the blue and black swedes to be interesting, decent layers, and males to be highly protective. After I lost my females from going into the woods to lay eggs and then eaten, I decided to get Welsh Harlequins. I really like them allot, nice coloring, friendly ducks. So its one of those things, I suggest using wiki to find out allot of different breeds of ducks, that helped me allot!

I have 2 pekin males now. They are going to live with my husbands coworker. They have a ranch and he raises chickens with lots of room. His wife has a few female pekins that are her pets and loves ducks. I learned my lesson to stay away from straight runs. I will take pics of the Cayuga, blue runner, welsh harlequin and white layer when the arrive Dec 3rd.

I have two Welshies and a white and fawn runner. I wanted a runner since they are so funny, and I thought since Welshies are more calm, they might mellow out the runner a bit. It sort of turned out the other way however! The two welshies are a little bit calmer than Dizzy the runner, but every time she gets excited, they follow along right after her. And while they don't quack much, when they want something, they can really put out a loud QUACK! Dizzy of course, talks non-stop!
