What Breed Would You Recommend? (Dairy Goats)

I have a Saanan-La Mancha cross and I LOVE her. I was getting a gallon a day for a while.

This late in the season, of course, I'm only getting about 1/2 a gallon, but in the "milk season" she's a great producer.

Ducklover1: I don't know that a Pygmy would produce enough milk for OP and her family, as they aren't really a dairy-specific breed.

we have a kinder, she's 1/2-3/4 gallon a day at peak production.
we have 10 lamanchas, low producer is like the kinder, high producer is 2+ gallon a day at peak production and over a gallon at low production after 18 months.
and they are quieter than other goats - calm, happy to just hang out for a nice neck scratch. I love 'em.

we had nubians they where great we are geting more for milking next spring so its going to be fun
