What breed?

This is my first time on the forum. Can anyone tell me what breed of rooster this is? I have been researching. I thought it was a Maran but they have dark legs. I’m thinking possibly a Welsummer mixed with a Wyandotte. Any ideas? We bought him from Tractor Supply.

Welcome! So glad you joined I'd say mostly or completely Wyandotte. It is weird he has a single comb, but sometimes the genes in hatcheries get messed up.

Thank you for that. Every picture I have seen of a Wyandotte had a different comb. Just thought it may have been mixed with a Welsummer.

I have a friend who bought several Wyandotte's from a hatchery, most had a single comb. They were pure bred, but hatchery quality. They sometimes don't watch for/cull breeders with DQ's at the big hatcheries.

Thanks for the comment. Learn something new everyday. Our rooster bred with our australorp. We incubated 12 eggs and 9 hatched. They are 4 1/2 weeks old. 2 australorp and 7 golden laced Wyandotte’s at least that’s what they are looking like. I can post some pictures soon if anyone is interested.
