Hi! I’m trying to figure out what bred this male/female is and I’m worried because there is no comb growing. Thanks!

Pea combs are very tiny and flat compared to other combs when the birds are young. It almost seems like they have no comb at all for awhile, but eventually they do, it’s just different.

What's the age?
This is an easter egger, but I don't see any male characteristics. It looks like a pullet to me, from the pattern on the feathers (which is female), to the color in the face. I'd bet this chicken is in her late teens (in weeks) which is why she's starting to get red.

And yes, she has a pea comb, not an upright single comb. They're a little less obvious, but its there.

Thank you! I was getting worried he might be sick
