What breed ????

Her brother didn’t look like that
-does that mean anything ?
Not really. A broody hen will steal all of her 'sisters' eggs to get a clutch together as quickly as possible. This is another reason that her chicks are typically born over a two day period of time; half of the eggs she gathers today, the other half tomorrow, and then starts sitting.
If a flock has two or more sexually mature males and two or more sexually mature females, then there's a possibility that these so-called 'brothers and sisters' aren't actual siblings. If their parent stock were to be related, the chicks could be any combination of siblings, half-siblings, or cousins. If the parent stock were to be totally unrelated, then the resulting chicks could be siblings, half-siblings or totally unrelated.

Her brother looks to be some sort of 'rhode island red' type bird and could be crossed with other breeds as well.

I'm a huge fan of backyard blends of chickens as they are typically less uptight and often much healthier than their fresh from the feed store counterparts.
My bias is that that feed store chicks are bred for the highest possible count of little bodies to sell, regardless of current or future health issues.
