What breed???

Hello BYC! So I have a duck and I am confused… he is about fiveish months old and I have no idea what breed he is. I think I’ve posted about him five times and still don’t know. he is now fully feathered so I thought I would try again. I will ad photos of him and him as a duckling.


Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

If he is the duckling on the right in the last picture, I would guess Golden 300.

Where did you get him? He does look similar to a mallard and may be a mallard cross, but he is not pure mallard. In his duckling picture he is not the correct wild type pattern to be a mallard. Some sort of hybrid possibly a golden 300.

Thank you! I keep telling him how handsome he is. I would think he is a mallard but under his wings is all white and he looked much different from a mallard duckling when he was young.

That’s what I thought but when his feathers started growing out he looked different from the pictures I’ve seen.

I got him at Big R. I’m kind of hoping he’s a golden 300. When he starts breeding I plan to hopefully get a female from him and I’ve heard that they lay lots of eggs.

Also, does anyone know when he might start breeding? I thought it took eight months but I also heard that it was once they get their curly tail they’re getting close to breed and he’s got his curly tail and so does his buddy the black Swedish.
